Andhra Pradesh: Polavaram, June 22: The Central Water Resources Department is preparing to provide another Rs 3,900 crore under NABARD support to the Polavaram Project.

The proposals have been sent to the Finance Ministry of India to permit NABARD to release this amount.

According to 2010-11 estimations, the water resources department has been prepared to assist NABARD by the way of assistance of Rs 5,900 crores.

Earlier, Rs 2,000 crore was sanctioned for the project. The govt rest of the Rs 3,900 crore is required by the Arthashanka to NABARD.

NABARD will soon release the amount to the National Water Management Agency in the Central Water Resources Department as soon as the Finance Department is permitted.

The Polavaram Project will get funds from the State Government. The amount will be released based on the application certificates submitted to the amount spent so far.

The Andhra Pradesh government has already submitted applications for Rs 3,400 crore. Minister Arun Jaitley announced a special package on September 7 last year that the project expenses are paid by the central govt on the prices of 1.4.2014.

Accordingly, the Andhra Pradesh government has not yet submitted its revised estimates to the central government.

While the AP government has said that the proposals were submitted to the Polavaram Project Authority, they have not come to the Central Water Authority yet.

It is clear that the Center is in the process of reimbursement of the project cost if the process is approved by the Center for revised estimates.
