Police to stop marriage breakups

Hyderabad June 20: Nowadays many of the couple has been breaking their relationship with silly reasons, in order to give the best awareness police were moved to innovative step.

While coming to matter, RachakondaCommissioner of Police, Mahesh M Bhagwat said that The main objective of police officers should be to unite quarreling couples and not to break their marriage.

Addressing a gathering of Sub-inspectors of Police posted within the RachakondaCommissionerateat an orientation program on gender sensitization here on Monday, he said the police officers handling family disputes should focus on preventing the disintegration of families.

The orientation program was organized by the Rachakonda police in partnership with BhumikaWomen Collective.

The police chief advised the police officers to be polite with people in general and women in particular and to protect the women and children from harassment and torture.

He explained to them about the amendments made to the Indian Penal Code and Criminal Procedure Code. He also asked the police officials to register the complaints made by women in marital offences in the General Diary without fail and then call the family members of the victims for counseling at Bhumika Collective or Ankuram Counseling centres to settle the issues amicably. He asked them to take appropriate action as per law if the issues were not settled through counseling.
