AP s SIT team reported about Land scam

Vijayawada, June 19: As we knew that, The AP CM Chandrababu Naidu was appointed Special Investigation team(SIT) to inquire the land scam in Vishakapatnam.

The AP DGP N Sambasiva Rao has reported some details of the land scam at Vijayawada here on Sunday.

Disclosing the details, Sambasiva Rao said that they identified that there were 25 land records which were tampered and the SIT would inquire three cases related to this land scam.

He said that the SIT would be headed by former CBI-DIG Vineet Brijlal and Visakhapatnam Joint Collector G Srijana and Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO) Vijaya Saradhi would accompany the SIT.

He informed that the Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was serious about this land scheme and stated that tampering the records was a serious crime and would take stringent action against the culprits.

The DGP said that the records relating to 270 acres of land were tampered, in which 265 acres belonged to the State government.

He informed that the lands are appearing as government lands in the Encumbrance Certificate (EC). But he maintained that the criminals could take loans from the banks based on the tampered documents.



He said that even though the records have tampered, they would not appear in the original records.

He revealed that ROR and 1B records tampered and they identified 30 accused persons initially.

He revealed that the scam first came to light as the accused persons tried to update the tampered records on the Web land (through which the state government maintaining the land records systematically) in Visakhapatnam, recently.

The accused persons tried to upload the tampered records in two villages in Visakhapatnam district.

He said that the district collector has the primary information about the tampered records and the SIT inquiry could be completed within a couple of months. He warned that they would not leave anybody in this case, as CM strictly directed the police to be cautious on it.

He also suggested the public must inform the SIT if they found their land records have tampered.

He stated that the tampering was noticed at Kommadi and Madhuravada villages in the district.
