Police arrest two,seized Gutka worth Rs 1.4 lakh

Mancherial June 16: The police officials has been arrested Two persons for allegedly trading prohibited gutka and some tobacco products here on Thursday.

According to the police, The seized material was worth Rs 1.40 lakh.

Mancherial town Inspector D Sudhakar said that the accused were identified as Intiaz, a native of Kaghaznagar town in Kumram Bheem Asifabad district, and Bandari Sanjeev Kumar belonging to Manthani in Peddapalli district.

The two were detained following a tip-off on Wednesday night.

During the course of interrogation, Sanjeev Kumar confessed that he was transporting the banned gutka packets from Intiaz on TSRTC bus.

He admitted that he was selling the same in different parts of Peddapalli district at considerably high rates and was making fast bucks.

The duo was sent to judicial remand after being produced in court.
