Robbers killed an old woman,stolen gold from her

Vishakapatnam, June 14: Here unidentified miscreants have robbed gold and murdered a 60 yrs old woman in her residence at Prahladapuram here on Tuesday.

The incident took place when she was alone and the police found that it was a murder for gain. 100-150gms of gold ornaments on her body were found missing.

While coming to details, The deceased has been identified as M Ramalakshmi (60), a resident of Prahladapuram. Pendurthy inspector J Murali said the woman had two sons. While son resides with his family at Vijayawada, another stays with her but has been out of station for the last 10 days.

Police suspect that noticing that she had been alone, some unidentified miscreants might have conducted recce, went into the house, murdered her and fled with gold ornaments.

Police said as per the relatives, on Tuesday they saw Ramalakshmi at around 11.30 am and at around 2.30 pm, one of them saw her lying lifeless on her bed and informed the police. The relatives said that the stolen gold would be around 100 to 150gms.
