BJP fired on Congress party over the Corruption

New Delhi June 14: BJP govt has been fired on the opposition party Congress about the issue of corruption in the Country.

Opposition leader in the Legislative Assembly Jagadish Shettar has stated today that Karnataka had gained dubious distinction of emerging as most corrupt State in the country and this is the only achievement of the four-year rule of the Congress government,

He said while Participating in the debate on demand on budgetary allocations for various Departments, that in every Department corruption rising to maximum levels and the government seemed to be clueless to check the menace.

While illegal sand mining had assumed maximum level, officials had fixed 'mamool' (bribe) for different works and without paying bribes nothing moves in PWD and police departments. Women officials were being harassed for not being corrupt by the senior officials and they were also being threatened, he stated.

Mr Shettar said that during recent rains in the city a municipal worker was washed away in the main drainage and his wife had alleged that the officials were demanding bribes to release compensation.This is really sad state of affairs.

According to a survey conducted by a private organizationKarnataka had emerged as the top most state in the country in corruption and this is the only achievement of the Siddaramaiahgovernment, he said.
