Telangana state gears up for GST from JULY 1

Hyderabad, June 13: All states are likely to follow the center in implementing a key reform.Government official of Telangana state said that we are ready to roll out the GST from July one from technology and preparedness perspective.

Revenue Secretary Somesh Kumar of the state said that "we are ready to implement the reform and we have not asked for any postponement of the launch date". He also said that "80 % of the state traders have migrated to GST " and we are sure that by month end remaining people also migrate to the new tax regime.He also added that "Some of the government concerns have been addressed such as including MSME under GST".



Secretary said that Telangana is happy with the GST regime because the revenues of the State increase.He also said that we may not need compensation for loss under GST because we may grow at 14 % every year as fixed by GST council.

Finally, he said that although some of our concerns have not been addressed we will make sure that they will be addressed in next meetings of the council".Earlier there was doubt regarding the implementation from July 1 because Finance Minister Etela Rajender has expressed his disappointment over the GST council meeting that took place on Sunday.
