Jnanpith award winner Ci Na Re is No more

Hyderabad, June 13: Famous Legendary lyricist and Poet Dr.C Narayana Reddy (85) was passed away at Care Hospital in Hyderabad due to prolonged illness. Ci Na Re was born in Hanumajipeta of Karimnagar District in 1931.

'Navami Puvvu' (1953) is the first literary work of Narayana. He entered into Movie Industry in the year 1962 and penned nearly to 3,000 songs. He received his first Padma Award in the year 1977. The prestigious Jnanpith Award was given to him in the year 1988 for the famous poem 'Viswambara'. This poem was included in the syllabus of Post-Graduate (PG) and Civils.



He also became Rajya Sabha Member in the year 1997 after President of India nominated him. In 1992, Narayana had received prestigious Padma Vibhushan award from central Government.

Reddy served as President of AP Official Language Sangham also. In 1982, He was appointed as AP Government Advisor for Cultural Programmes. He was the Vice President of Ambedkar University in the year of 1985 and Potti Sriramulu Telugu University in the 1989 year.

CMs of two Telugu States expressed condolences and recalled their association with the Ci Na Re. Telugu People will miss C Narayana Reddy forever!
