Woman allegedly raped by two contract workers

Telangana State, June 11: A tribal woman from Telangana State has been allegedly raped by two contract workers from the Forest Department.

The incident happened when she went to collect Mahua flowers near Tadwai in Jayashankar Bhupalapally district.

According to the source's information that the woman had gone out with two more women, and the two men, identified as Santosh and Vijay, allegedly followed them into the forest.

The sources added that two women managed to escape back to their village, and inform the elders, who visited the Tadwai police station and filed a complaint on the incident.

Speaking to the media District Superintendent R. Bhaskaran said that a case under IPC 366, 376 (D) and 506 was registered against the suspects, which deal with kidnapping, gang rape and criminal intimidation respectively.

The two men were reported to be absconding after the incident.
