Rape in Visakhapatnam

Vishakapatnam, June 10: As we knew that, a brutal incident happened in the Vishakapatnam. From this perspective, police officials have been arrested two people and they are in search of other.

A 22-year-old woman working in the front office of a star hotel on the Beach Road here was allegedly gang raped by her former colleague and his friends. The incident came to light after the victim approached the Three Town police on Friday.

Based on her complaint, police registered a case against Sridhar, a former receptionist in the hotel near Vuda Park, and others under sections 376(d), 342 and 506 of IPC and launched a manhunt for the main accused.

The victim has been taken to KGH for a medical test. Police are yet to ascertain if the heinous crime was committed in the hotel or at some other place.

Police are also not sure as to how many persons were involved in the crime as the woman is still in a shock from the incident which took place on June 5.

Police said the accused made the woman, who joined the hotel as a trainee six months ago, drink the liquor on that night and later they sexually abused her.

The woman, a resident of PM Palem area on the outskirts of Vizag, developed a friendship with Sridhar. On June 4, she was dropped by the hotel cab at PM Palem after finishing her duty at 11 pm.

Sridhar, who trailed her in his four-wheeler, insisted she accompany him or else he would end his life. Worried by his threats, the woman joined him in the car and they reached the hotel in the early hours (at 2.30 am) after consuming liquor at another hotel.

"We are investigating whether the accused mixed any sedative in the liquor. The victim in her complaint said that she is still in a shock. When she woke up the next morning, she realized she had been sexually assaulted," a senior police officer told to media.

Police said that Sridhar scripted the episode, as he had already booked a room through one of his friends Vinay, who is a businessman in Singapore, and a regular visitor to the hotel. Sridhar developed a friendship with Vinay during his stint as the receptionist. Vinay, who took a room on June 4 in his name, booked another room later.

When Sridhar was taking the victim to the hotel, one of the employees of the hotel spotted them at around 5 am.
