Incomplete National Anthem in Marathi Text Books

Panaji, June 9: Incomplete printing of the national song in a textbook caused controversy in Goa. The Congress Party demanded the State Government to rectify an error that led to an incomplete version of the National Anthem being printed in Text Books Published by the State Education Department, here on Thursday.

In Marathi 2 Class Text Book this mistake happened. On this matter, Goa Congress Representative Sunil Kavathamkar expressed serious objection. He demanded the state government take responsibility for this mistake.

Goa Educational Board Officials are not checking the Textbooks clearly before Publishing, He said.

On Friday, The education authorities in Goa said that a 'technological' error resulted in the publishing of an incomplete version of the national anthem in Class 2 Marathi textbook.

Director Nagaraj Honnekeri, State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT)said that 13,000 pages containing the complete text of the national anthem would now be re-published and sent to all schools with a corrigendum.
