Orvakal, Dagadarthi airports got Environmental clearances

New Delhi, June 9: The Central Government has sanctioned environmental clearances for the greenfield airports that were constructed by the Government of Andhra Pradesh in the Orvakal Mandal of Kurnool district, and Dagadarthi Mandal of Nellore district.

The order was issued on Thursday.

These airports will be constructed under the guidance of Bhogapuram International Airport Corporation Limited. The airport will be constructed at a cost of Rs 460 crore in 584 acres of land under Dhamavaram and K.K.Gunta villages at Dagadarthi Mandal in Nellore District.

The new runway, terminal building will be constructed. 460 acres in 584 acres of land will be developed on the city side, with 100 acres being developed towards the city. 24 acres are used for the approached road.

Rs 76 crores will be spent for the first phase of Dagadarthi airport construction.

Meanwhile, The Greenfield Airport will be constructed on 583 acres of land in the Kannamadakala and Poodicherla villages of Orvakal Mandal of Kurnool district. It is also designed to operate ATR 72 aircraft with the capacity of 70 passengers as same as Dagadarthi airport.

Up to 435 acres will be used for airplanes communication, 125 acres will be developed towards the city. 25 acres are used for roads.
