Biometric certification in MEE SEVA service centres

Hyderabad, June 09: SC / ST, BC, Minority, EBC and SC / ST students in Telangana have been provided with simultaneous biometric certification in MEE SEVA service centers to speed up the issuance of scholarships, said SC Welfare Director Karunakar.

The Indian Identical Identity Authority (UIDAI) has been updating Aadhaar software in the wake of computer viruses.

In this background, it is said that the use of the 1.6 version that is currently being used to verify students' details in colleges.

In biometric devices, the software was upgraded to version 2.0 or new devices. In some colleges, this change is available, but not many colleges, it may take a long time.

In Telangana, about 13 lakh students applied for scholarships and teaching fees for 2016-17 academic years. They need Rs.2,100 crore for payments. The government has already released more than Rs 500 crore funding under the first installment and the payments will be completed immediately after the Integrated Biometric Certification is completed.

Verification of all biometric centers has been completed with the intention of delaying the biometric equipment upgrade delayed by students' scholarships. The college students who are not available to upgrading software will be able to verify details in MEE SEVA service centers paying Rs 20.
