Ola cabs to fund "Beacon for the Sundarbans"

New Delhi, June 8: A Company has announced its support for an NGO. Taxi aggregator Ola on Thursday announced has joined the initiative 'Sahasra Jyoti' or 'Beacon for the Sundarbans'. WWF-India, India's leading environmental conservation NGO has launched the project.

The company said that it has given support as a part of its efforts for sustainable development of the Sundarbans landscape in India. The main aim of the project "SahastraJyoti" is to enable energy access to 1000 households in the region via solar energy. Ola said that it is committed to donating a vast majority of revenue to WWF-India.

#FarakPadtaHai campaign was launched on WORld environment day and it aims to educate people to reduce pollution in the cities by using shared transport. The company said that its Share Passes are sold at Re 1/- through WWF-India's online channels.

WWF-India, marketing director Himanshu Pandey said that we are happy to partner with Ola and we will continue to build awareness about the environment and sustainable mobility.

Finally, the cab company said that we will support not only this initiative but also various other initiatives in different parts of the country.
