Indian entertainment and News industry to grow at rapid pace :PWC

Mumbai June 8: A good news for Media Industry. International Consultancy PWC has conducted a survey on the growth of Entertainment and local media in India. The results of the survey are

* The value of the local news and entertainment the industry would be more than RS 2.91 lakh crores by 2021.

* The industry would grow at 10.5 % every year till 2021.

* The share of media in the world economy is decreasing.

TV Industry: This Industry will grow at 11.4 % in coming 5 years.

* No of people who have TV connections would increase to 16.7 crores.

* The growth of this sector will stagnate after 2021.

Advertisements Sector: The total revenue generated by Television Ads will touch RS 37135 crores. Digital advertisements will grow at a rate of 18.6 % till 2021.

Newspapers: This industry will grow at 1.10 % in coming years.

Digital Industry: This industry will grow at a rapid pace of 22.4 %.The main reason is the preference of customers to adopt Flexi fare system rather than monthly bill system.

Finally, the report concluded that Digital Industry will not affect the print and electronic media industry.
