Indian Embassy issues alert in Qatar

Doha, June 8: A warning has been issued. Indians who live in Qatar have been advised by the Indian Embassy to stay alerted and must contact their travel agents if they have any modifications in their travel plans.

The Embassy's advisory came during the time of several Gulf nations have started cutting off their diplomatic ties with Qatar. In the advisory issued yesterday, the embassy said that concerned airlines have offered refunds for canceled flights following disruptions in air operations.

"Indian travelers are requested to be vigilant and they must contact embassy if they require any help". The advisory has also stated that there is no threat in staying in Qatar as of now and the residents must alert police if required.

Earlier Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the UAE and Egypt, Maldives, Yemen, Mauritius, Mauritania and Jordan on Monday have cut their diplomatic relations with Qatar after they found that the country was supporting Terrorism. The EU has revoked the license of Qatar Airways and said that it must shut its operations in 48 hours.

Sources say that there are around 630,000 Indians living in Qatar.Let's hope that Indians living in the foreign country be safe and follow Embassy Instructions.
