Goa people prefer Fish and not Beef: Manohar Ajgaonkar

Panaji, June 8: A minister has clarified about the most favorite food of a state in India. Goas state Tourism Minister Manohar Ajgaonkar has said that Goa's most preferred cuisine is Fish and not Beef.

He also said that Centre's notification on cattle trade will have little or no impact on the coastal state's tourism. The Ministers response came when a media reporter has asked him about the impact of the ban on cow slaughter on state tourism.

He also stated that Goa is famous for its sun, sand and surf, fish, curry, and rice. He also said that Goa's cuisine is a big promoter for tourists who love to enjoy the authentic and natural Goan Axit kodi (fish curry) and seafood.

However many local people and, meat traders, as well as the opposition party, have expressed their concern on the curbs on animal markets which could impact the sale of beef in Goa.

Finally, the minister has said that there was no beef shortage in Goa and added that the notification had not resulted in a drop in tourism either.Let's hope that the Goa continues to promote its tourism whether tourists prefer beef or fish.
