Digital games may improve mental health

New York, June 7: Nowadays Children became very Smart they are operating Mobiles, Computers and many technological inventions. We will not allow them to take such interventions. But Providing technological interventions such as digital games to children who are living as refugees in war-torn regions may help in improve their mental health and as well as boost their academics, a research has found.

Refugee children often do not enroll in the education system partly because of language barriers, and they often suffer from depression and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

According to Reports, digital games can teach refugee children effectively with much-needed skills including cognitive skills, improves new language, and it will improve their mental health.

Professor at the New York University, Selcuk Sirin said 'The study shows that even with limited resources, and language barriers, we can make a difference in the lives of children through providing technology.'

Children’s executive functions and cognitive skills such as their ability to monitor, plan and alter behaviors are improved. 147 Syrian refugee children, aged 9 to 14 participants included in the Study.

Researchers suggested that Play based intervention not only effective but also the children were engaged and wanted to continue doing.
