Indian Shrimp and Fish hot cake

NewDelhi June 7: A good news for Indian Economy. India seafood exports have risen. The government has released the export data on Wednesday. The main highlights of the data released are

* India has exported 11,34,948 tons of seafood worth Rs. 37,870.90 crore in 2016-17.

* The exports have increased by 23 per cent in last financial year.

* The country has mainly exported the seafood to the US and SouthEast Asia.

* The demand from the European Union has increased over the years.

Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Nirmala Sitharaman considers following reasons for the increase in exports.

1) Increased production of L. Vannamei (white leg shrimp).

2) Diversification of aquaculture species.

3) Measures were taken by industry to ensure quality

4) Infrastructure created by government and Industry for value addition of products.

India mainly exported Frozen shrimp ( Vannamei Shrimp, Black Tiger shrimp ), Frozen fish (cuttlefish), frozen squid. The Minister has ended her speech by thanking all fisherman who have contributed to the rise of the Indian exports.
