YSRCP leaders protest at AP Assembly

Amaravati, June 7: The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leaders have staged a dharna at Assembly Complex main gate here on Wednesday, against the refusal of permission to visit the Leader of the Opposition's chamber in which rain water had leaked yesterday.

A group of YSRCP leaders, led by MLAs M P Appa Rao and A Rama Krishna Reddy went to the Assembly complex along with print and electronic media. They wanted to inspect their leader’s chamber and Assembly in which rain water was leaked.

However, the security personnel didn't allow the media into the Assembly complex. Angered over this, the YSRCP leaders staged a dharna at the gate number 2 by wrapping the black cloth around their mouth.

After an hour, they left the place. Assembly Secretary Satyanarayana told the YSRCP MLAs that Assembly Speaker’s permission is needed to allow media into the Assembly complex.

Talking to media, Mr. Rama Krishna Reddy pointed out that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said that Capital City is being constructed by the Singapore companies on par with international standards, and asked on whether the leaking of rain water in the chambers is an international standard.

The rain water leaked in Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy's chamber as long as it was raining. The Assembly staff put buckets when water was gushing from the roof into Mr. Reddy's chamber. The leaking of water was video graphed by some staff using mobile phones and sent to news channels.
