Vijayawada, June 07: CM Chandrababu Naidu ordered Guntur MP Galla Jaydev to quit as a Member of AP Olympic Association (APOA) after Andhra Pradesh lost the opportunity to host the National Games 2018.
Group War in AP Olympic Association led to this situation. While TDP Rajya Sabha MP CM Ramesh led one group, Galla Jaydev is heading the other one.
Currently, The case regarding the ownership of APOA is pending in the court. So, Sports Authority of AP (SAAP) denied recognition of both these Groups.
Although Indian Olympic Association (IOA) made it clear that only a State Association can place the bid for hosting the National Games, SAAP didn't recognize Galla's Group citing the pending case. Subsequently, AP lost the opportunity to place the bid for National Games.
CM Ramesh has already resigned his post in APOA. However, Galla Jaydev refused to step down all these days. But now, CM himself asked the MP to end ties with the AP Olympic Association.
