Shocking incident in Bellampally

Telangana Bellampally, June 07: In a brutal incident, a son has been set ablaze by his father due to admonished for not concentrating on studies.

The incident has occurred in Bellampally Mandal on Monday.

Coming to matter, The father, who had suffered severe burns, was admitted to the Mancherial area hospital.

The 17-year-old was pursuing the polytechnic course. On Monday, his father reprimanded him for not focusing on studies. Added to this, the father also had a tiff with his wife on that day and the boy tried to intervene, police said.

The father asked him not to intervene in unnecessary issues but focus on his studies. Enraged by his father’s rebuke, he planned to eliminate him.

He bought petrol from a bunk in the evening and, when his father was asleep, poured it on the unsuspecting father and set him afire, police said.

Hearing the man's screams, other members of the family and neighbors rushed in to put out the fire and shifted him to the hospital.

Police registered a case of "attempt to murder" against the boy and are investigating.
