6-year-old Boy died in Car

New Delhi, June 6: A six-year-old boy was found died due to heat and suffocation after he got stuck inside a car for over four hours. This incident took place in northwest Delhi’s Rani Bagh on Monday.

The boy was identified as Sonu. The body was recovered around 4 p.m. from the rear seat of his neighbor Vijay Ahuja’s car, which was parked outside his residence.

Immediately the boy was taken to Bhagwan Mahavir Hospital, where he was declared brought dead.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (North-West) Milind Mahadeo said 'The boy had suffered burns. Prima facie, he died of heat and suffocation.'

The child went missing around 11:30 a.m., Later his parents Mamta and Ram Gopal started a search for the boy. After being unable to find the child, they approached the Police Three hours later.



The body was later found by Mr. Ahuja, owner of the car and he then called the police.

'It was suspected that the boy went inside the car when it was being cleaned around 11 a.m.' The officer said. He also added that 'The person cleaning the car had left the vehicle unattended for some time so the boy might have gone inside then for playing.'

Officer said 'Cleaner of the Car will be questioned on Tuesday.' The post-mortem examination will also be conducted on Tuesday.
