TSPSC clarifies on Group-II Results

Hyderabad, June 6: Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) sought to allay 'misconceptions' about the recently announced results of the Group-II examination, affirming that it had ensured that 'no candidate is put to loss due to the confusion or misguidance in the centres at the time of examination', here on Monday.

In an official statement, TSPSC secretary Vani Prasad said that 'only corrections made in the biodata part of the OMR by duly cross verifying with other parallel records such as absentees statement, nominal rolls etc., for establishing the identity of the candidate was considered.'

Vani Prasad claimed that 'Any corrections/ erasures made in the central part of OMR sheet, questions are given are not considered for evaluation, where the responses of the questions will be candidates. So, this does not influence the merit of any candidate. The decision which we were taken is based on the recommendations of a technical committee, she said.

This Technical Committee was formed due to 'certain confusion' that prevailed in some examination centers regarding mismatching of Question Booklet and OMR as some candidates had made certain corrections while bubbling/filling up in OMR.

For the Group-II examination, about 7.89 lakh candidates had applied and 5.17 lakh candidates had appeared for the exam in 1916 centers with 20,000 personnel supervising.

In the ratio of 1:2 The candidates will be called for interviews as per the notification, for certificate verification they are being called in the ratio 1:3 as there are chances of some of them not fulfilling the criteria laid.

Vani Said 'For 1,032 posts in Gr-II services, 3,147 candidates are being called for certificate verification instead of 3096. For physical disability categories, candidates are called in the ratio of 1:5 as there was a likelihood of more rejections, hence 3147.'

She added, Cut off Marks/Merit list of the candidates are never declared before finalization of the selections and it can be provided after publication of the final list of selected candidates.
