Nara Lokesh : AP to get Drone Excellence Center

Amaravati, June 4: The Andhra Pradesh Minister for IT and Panchayat Raj Nara Lokesh has attended a meeting with the representatives of AP Innovation Society at Secretariat on Saturday.

Nara Lokesh has instructed to the officials, The efforts should be focused on developing Andhra Pradesh as a global drone hub for which as a Drone Excellence Centre should be established in the state.

Currently, China is the leader in manufacturing drones across the world and there is a scope to manufacture them in AP at a much cheaper price. He said the usage of drones is in high demand in every sector across the world.

He addressed that, "While utilizing the services of drones we can contain the smuggling activities of Red Sanders. Similarly the works of Polavaram Dam, Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) and also while performing smart policing, drones will be more effective".

Lokesh told,"As there is heavy demand for drones if we train more youngsters in this technology we can provide more job opportunities to them. Omnipresent Company came forward to establish drone manufacturing, research and skill development center in Visakhapatnam by joining hands with our government".

He further added that there is a rise in demand for Oil and Gas companies, mining, irrigation, agriculture and other sectors across the world our youth should utilize this opportunity by developing themselves as the best technocrats, he said.
