Delhi June 3: A good news for Indian Internet users. Akamai Technologies has published its Internet Connectivity report for first quarter of 2017.

The report mainly deals with the internet connectivity available in different parts of the world.

The main highlights of the report are:

# The global average connection speed increased 15 percent in last year to 7.2Mbps.

# India moved up by eight spots compared to last year.

# The global rank of the country is 89.

# The average Internet connection speed of the country is 6.5Mbps.

# The internet speed in the country increased by 87 percent in last year.

# In Q1 2017 the average Internet connection speed in India improved by 17 percent compared to last quarter.

# 4Mbps broadband is adopted by 42 percent of the country in Q1 2017.

# The increase is estimated to be 81 percent compared to last year.

# The country population have adopted 19 % in 10Mbps broadband Internet connections

# The country has rapidly adopted the speed with an increase of 285 percent compared to last -year.

# Finally, a total 10 percent of the country have access to 15 Mbps Broadband Connectivity.

# The increase is at a peak of 405 percent compared to 2016.

# South Korea has global high internet speed of 28.6Mbps.

Finally, experts have praised India for improvement but they also suggested that a lot more work must be done to increase internet speed in the country.
