Bangalore, June 2: The Global IT major company Wipro has received a threat mail here on Friday, asking to pay Rs 500 crore in bitcoin otherwise its employees will be attacked by a chemical weapon.
This is the second mail received by Wipro within a gap of one month.
On May 5 also the company had received similar threat mail.
Confirming the threat, the company said it has reinforced security measures at all its office locations after receiving a second threat email, but there was no impact on the company's operations.
"Wipro confirms that it has received a second threatening e-mail.Wipro has reinforced security measures at all its office locations. There is no impact on the company's operations," the company said in a statement.
The first mail was received on May 7, where the sender demanded Rs.500 crore in bitcoin, failing which he warned of a bio-attack on employees.
