Australia-New Zealand renew World Cup rivalry

London June 02: Here is the big battle to start in the ICC Champions Trophy today.

The second match today New Zealand will lock horn with Australia at Edgbaston Cricket Ground in Birmingham.

The match will start at 3 pm, Indian time. Both the team has good bowlers as well as batsmen, but however, the Australia is favourite in this match.

Left-arm speedsters Mitchell Starc and Trent Boult were central characters in those games in early 2015 and they look like being so again when Australia and New Zealand face off in an ICC Champions Trophy group match at Edgbaston.

Starc worries the Kiwis. He almost single-handedly snatched Australia victory in Auckland during the World Cup with a devastating return of 6-28. But NZ hung on for a one-wicket win, much due to Boult (5-27) ripping Australia's top-order to shreds.

Earlier yesterday, England defeated Bangladesh by 8 wickets in the opening match of Champions Trophy. Chasing a victory target of 306, England made 308 for 2 with 16 balls to spare.

Joe Root's unbeaten 133 off 129 balls helped England to chase down the target in just 47.2 overs. England medium pacer Plunkett took four wickets in 10 overs conceding 59 runs.

Earlier put in to bat, Bangladesh posted a challenging total of 305 for 6 in stipulated 50 overs. For Bangladesh, top scorer was Tamim Iqbal with 128 while Mushfiqur Rahim made 79 runs.
