Revanth Reddy: Declare December 3 as Martyrs Day

Hyderabad June 01: Telangana Telugu Desam Party (TTDP) working president A Revanth Reddy has demanded that the government declare December 3 as Telangana Martyrs Memorial Day.He said here on Wednesday
In a letter to Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, he sought to explain how other States observed Memorial Days based on their historic significance.
"Srikanth Chary immolated himself on December 3, 2009, during the Telangana agitation. Hence, this day should be declared as Telangana Martyrs Memorial Day," he said.
He also urged the Chief Minister to honour family members of martyrs on that day. He also demanded the construction of "Telangana Amaraveerula Sthupam" (Martyrs memorials) in all 31 district headquarters.
