Odisha, May 31: Generally so many companies giving bumper offers to the customers saying buy one and get one, Here a customer did not get the offer instead he got two potatoes.

The incident took place in Raghunathpur in Jagatsinghpur district.

Coming to details, The person has filed a police complaint against a car dealer for gifting him two potatoes instead of a cell phone that he won through a lucky draw while buying a car.

He has also named the courier service that delivered the gift box containing potatoes in his complaint.

MN Harsavardhan of Sadhusahi village in Raghunathpur block had purchased a Maruti Alto car from Sky Automobiles in Cuttack recently. As there was a lucky draw for all customers on that day, Harsavardhan participated in it and won a 4G Samsung cell phone.

He was assured that the gift would be delivered at his postal address. Subsequently, he received a call from the DTDC courier agency at Ranihat in Cuttack City asking him to pick up his gift from the agency’s office.

However, Harsavardhan asked the agency to send the packet to DTDC, Raghunathpur branch, from where he would collect it.On Friday last week, Harsvardhan received the courier packet from Raghunathpur DTDC office and found it containing two potatoes instead of the cell phone.

He lodged a police complaint against the car dealer and courier agency at Raghunathpur police station.

IIC of Raghunathpur police station Ranjan Kumar Mallick said a FIR has been registered against the car dealer and courier agency.
