Student held, for raping a minor girl

Hyderabad, May 30: The Police have arrested a 19 yrs old student, who has allegedly raped a minor girl at Ramnagar near Chikkadpally here on Monday.

While coming to details, The suspect identified as Pavan Kumar Yadav was a resident of Ram Nagar.He had been befriended the 17-year-old girl two years ago and proposed to her.

In January, he called her to his home on the pretext of introducing her to his parents. However, she realized that he was alone in the house when he locked up the door. He then sexually assaulted her and photographed the act on his mobile phone, according to Joel Davis, DCP, Central Zone.

Pavan Kumar then began blackmailing her, saying that he would post the pictures on social media if she did not submit herself to him whenever he wanted. He took her again to another vacant house in Uppal on March 13 and raped her again.

Based on the victim's complaint, a case has been registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The suspect was produced before court and remanded in judicial custody.
