Floods in Srilanka

Colombo, MAY 27: A deadly disaster took place yesterday in Srilanka. Massive floods occured on Friday due to heavy rainfall and landslide.

Sources say that till now 100 people have died, another 100 people are reported to be missing. The country's Disaster Management Centre said that 61,000 people had been affected. They also said that we have taken 2,000 people to safer places.



Currently, India is helping the country by sending food and other emergency items which are required. Sources say that the death toll may rise and the rescue operation is on.

Finally, the country has requested the UN for assistance because this is one of the deadliest disasters that took place in the country.
