Gold robbery, three held

Hyderabad, May 24: Here a gang of 3 robbers has arrested including a father and son allegedly targeted women on Monday, who are sleeping on terraces in summer on the outskirts and robbed their gold chains.

While coming to details, The suspects are identified as Mudavath Sreenu, 30, and his father Mudavath Kishan,58, and Pathlavath Ramla,28, all belonging to Thimmajipet Mandal in Nagarkurnool district.The trio robbed 14 women in the last two weeks.

"The gang committed four robberies in the Shabad area, two in the Chevelle area, two in

Keshampet area, and one in Shamshabad. They also robbed four people in Maheshwaram and created terror among villagers" said Cyberabad JCP Shanawaz Qasim.

Police officials said that one of the suspects Kishan was an old criminal having a criminal record of more than 25 years.

Qasim said, "Earlier he was involved in vehicle thefts, dacoities and chain snatchings in Mahbubnagar and Hyderabad. He trained his son Sreenu in the robbery. P. Ramla is their relative who joined the father and son,"

After receiving many complaints from villagers, Shamshabad DCP P.V. Padmaja set up a special team and launched a unit for the gang. The police team tracked them down to their hideout in city outskirts. The Senior officials said that PD Act will be initiated against all the suspects soon.
