Milk racket arrested

Hyderabad, May 23: As we know that, The Cyberabad Special Operations Team (SOT) have arrested a fake milk racket at Ibhrahimpatnam.

Now, SOT Police have raided and arrested a milk vendor's house at Macha Bollarum in Alwal and seized about 450 liters of adulterated milk on Monday.

While coming to details, The accused vendor, identified as Sainath Yadav, 24, a resident of Srinagar Colony in Risala Bazaar, Alwal, was arrested.

According to the Alwal police, Sainath was selling buffalo milk since a couple of years. Based on a tip-off, the Balanagar SOT officials raided his house premises in the early hours on Monday and found that he was selling adulterated milk.

The suspect used to purchase Dholpur Fresh milk powder and would mix it into pure milk, which was further diluted before being sold to hotels and roadside tea stalls.

"The milk powder comes in one-kilo packets and he mixes about four or five packets into 100 liters of milk." Said T. Anand Reddy, Inspector Alwal, adding that Sainath was doing this for over a month now.

"He has been doing this since the summer started. He confessed that during summer, the milk production was low and the demand was high. So he had to adulterate milk to balance the demand," police said.

A cheating case under section 420 of the IPC and relevant sections for adulteration was booked and the case is being investigated. The officials, apart from 450 liters of adulterated milk, also seized 32 packets of milk powder.
