World Bank team praised Mission Bhagiratha

Hyderabad, May 21: The World Bank Team congratulated the idea of Mission Bhagirath is excellent. In the drinking water sector, the Mission Bhagiratha project praised and it will be a role model to the whole country.

ENC Surendar Reddy held a review meeting at the RWS(Rural Water Supply) office in Hyderabad on Saturday on the progress of Mission Bhagiratha Intra-village works, which using funds of World Bank in Karimnagar, Adilabad and Mahabubnagar districts.

The World Bank has given loans of Rs 80 crores for the internal domestic works in those districts.

He explained that The funds for the water Connection and Distribution works are going on in 286 residents in those three districts.

ENSC Surender Reddy discussed with the representatives of the World Bank on the progress report submitted by the officials.The villagers are coming forward voluntarily for the work.With the assistance of the villagers, the work is going on faster than they thought, he added.



He adding that the RWS Vigilance Department checked the quality and recognizing the transparency and quality of mission assignments.Some national banks also came forward to lend money.

He told that The Chief Minister KCR also said that the target of safe drinking water for people in remote areas, not just in urban areas.

Representatives of the World Bank, who attended the review meeting, expressed satisfaction at the village level. The World Bank has been standing on the Telangana government's determination to recognize safe drinking water as the minimum right of the people.

The World Bank team sought to complete intravenous works in Karimnagar, Adilabad and Mahabubnagar districts by the end of July, while ENC Surendar Reddy promised to complete drinking water and ensure drinking water.

The conference was attended by Swachabharat (Rural) director Ramulu Nayak, World Bank Team Leader Raghava, Technical Consultant Mohan Rao, SE, and EE district teams.
