Legal notice issued to Kangana Ranaut

Mumbai May 20: After scouring hit with a histroical movie like 'Gautamiputra Satakarni', director Krish now again took up an another historic movie which is the biopic of Rani of Jhansi, Lakshmi Bai which was entitled as 'Manikarnika'.

We all know that this film is producing and acting by Kangana Ranaut. Now, noted Bollywood filmmaker Ketan Mehta has sent a legal notice to Kangana accusing her of hijacking his ambitious project, "Rani of Jhansi: The Warrior Queen".

In the notice, Mehta alleged that he had first approached Kangana for the biopic of Lakshmi Bai in 2015 and that he got her green signal. "I had shared all the research material and several drafts of the script with Kangana as she was actively participating in script discussions over last two years. However, I never thought she would finally hijack my project and rope in another filmmaker to helm it," said Mehta.



Adding that he had spent ten years researching for the movie, Mehta demanded in his notice for Manikarnika to be shelved as he will be going ahead with his film titled "Rani of Jhansi: The Warrior Queen".

Kangana is yet to respond to the legal notice. She was recently accused by the writer of her upcoming film 'Simran' of stealing his story credit.
