Hotel Manager held for Tax evasion

Vizag, May 19: Central excise and service tax officials has been arrested a city-hotel managing director for failing to remit Rs 3 crore of service tax to the govt.

While going to details, the manager had not paid the Service tax between 2011 and 2016.

Officers of the Commissionerate of Central Excise and Service Tax searched the hotel a couple of days and arrested the managing director of a popular hotel near GVMC main office at Asilmetta

Department commissioner B Hareram said in a press release the MD was remanded to judicial custody.

However, the police department was further investigating the case.
