Maria Sharapova denied Wild Card entry

Paris, MAY 17: A sad news for Russian Tennis Player Maria Sharapova.
She has been denied of wild card entry in the French open tournament.

The French Tennis Federation had issued a statement regarding her wild card entry status. The federation said that we cannot grant permission to her because we want to protect the game.

The denial comes as a shock to Russian player because she thought she could get away from the charges against her in the doping case.



Federation president Bernard Giudicelli said that although she has already completed her 15-month ban from playing we cannot put your ethics at risk by granting her permission.

Finally, he concluded that "there can be Wild card entry for Injured players but not for players returning to the team after suspension because of doping."
