Gold worth 8Kgs seized in Chennai

CHENNAI MAY 16: Two person apprehended after the Chennai Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) seized 8.3 kg of gold worth Rs 2.46 crore smuggled from Assam to Chennai. District Revenue Officials has recovered the Gold here on Sunday.

Coming to details, Income Tax Department has alerted the Revenue Officials by saying that, Gold was moving from the boarder of Bangladesh to Chennai.

Soon after, Officials conducted the Raids in Central Railway Station, on Sunday.

Two Passengers named as Tarals and Teju are traveling in Guwahati-Thiruvananthapuram Super Past Train, Officials recovered 8.3 Kilo Gold from them.

They were smuggling the Gold from Assam to Chennai, which worths of Rs. 2.46 crores.
