Hyderabad May 16: Telangana IT Minister K T Rama Rao has said that the youngest State of Telangana was number one in the country in cashless transactions and in providing e-governance services to the people here on Monday.

While going to details that the Telangana State was treading fast in the IT sector and making rapid strides at a national level, he added.

Addressing the 9th anniversary of IT and Communication Department at HICC here the IT minister said that the govt was trying its best to make at least one member of a family become digitally literate as part of its digital programme.

KTR further added that Govt would provide safe and potable water to the rural population. Indeed, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi regime had taken up the flagship programme of Mission Bhagiratha to provide safe drinking water to every household and also fibre grid broadband internet services simultaneously Rama Rao said.

"We will provide basic amenities to the people who ought to get them," he Stressed.

The IT Minister announced that the State government was all set to launch a comprehensive new policy for digital literary promotion in a big way.

Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was keen on promoting IT sector and its related companies, he said, adding that the Chief Minister wanted to extend its services to the forefront of people.
