SC orders CAG to find out RS 20000 crore

NewDelhi, MAY 15: Supreme court has directed the CAG to find out the irregularities involved in the collection of the amount of labor welfare.

SC has questioned, "where was the amount meant for the welfare of workers Rs 20,000 crore, gone, Spent on tea parties or vacation of officials"?

The court had questioned CAG while hearing a PIL filed by NGO.

The NGO has alleged that the statutory cess levied by the government and collected from real estate firms for the welfare of construction workers was diverted because there was no mechanism to identify the real owners and extending the benefits to them.

“The court was angry because how come even controller Audit General Of India doesn't know where the money has gone."

“ The bench has asked the audit body to submit the details before August 2".

Finally, the court has ordered all the states to submit the data for Audit of the data and the auditor shall submit the report to the court before the mentioned date.
