Ten years girl found Pregnant,assaulted by her step father

Haryana, May 15: A shocking incident has unveiled in Rohtak city of Haryana here on Sunday.

While coming to details, A 10-year-old girl here was found to be five-month pregnant after being raped repeatedly, allegedly by her stepfather, the police said on Sunday.

The girl's pregnancy was confirmed by the doctors when her mother took her to a hospital, they said, adding that the accused had been arrested.

The police said that the accused, identified as Suresh, was arrested under Section 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation) of the IPC and relevant section of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO Act) 2012.

The mother, in a complaint lodged with the police, alleged that the girl's stepfather had been raping her for a long time and had threatened the girl with dire consequences if she dared to disclose it to anyone.

Meanwhile, the National Commission for Women (NCW) chairperson Lalitha Kumaramangalam said the agency had taken inquiry of the case.An NCW team is also likely to visit Rohtak on Monday to look into the matter.

The family, originally from Bihar, was residing at Durga Colony here, Rohtak DSP (City) Ramesh Kumar said.

The girl was admitted to PGIMS, Rohtak, the police said, adding that they were probing the matter further.
