Bakhtawar Bhutto fired on prohibition of eating in public

Pakistan, May 15: We all know that during the time of Ramzan every Muslim will be doing fasting, but in Pakistan, there is a rule that everyone who is the Pak should eat and drink any thing the day time.

A new Bill prohibiting the public from eating and drinking in public during the holy month of Ramzan has been introduced in Pakistan. As per the Ehteram-e-Ramazan (Amendment) Bill 2017, Not just the civilians but the hotel owners who violate the law will be fined from Rs 500 to Rs 25,000.

Former Pakistan PM late Benazir Bhutto's Daughter Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari expressed her anguish on the new law. "People are going to die from heat stroke and dehydration with this ridiculous law. Not everyone is able. This is not Islam. Not everyone in Pakistan will be fasting - Children in school, the elderly, people with medical issues - Should we arrest them for drinking water?" she questioned.

According to Ehtram-e-Ramazan Ordinance 1981, Muslims were prohibited from eating or drinking in public during day time in Ramzan month. But, A lot of Clerics advised people not to risk their lives if their health doesn't permit them fasting.
