Supreme court strongly comments on Triple Talaq

New Delhi, MAY 13: Supreme court on Friday continued its hearing on triple talaq case. The Supreme court has made strong comments on the issue.

The Court said that "this old Muslim tradition is the worst form to take divorce from the woman".

The court also said that "is the practice present in Shariyat and is it a crime to give divorce according to Muslim law"

The CJI said that "If it is considered as a crime in books then we shall strike it down and
we cannot do crime in the name of the God".



Defending the Government view to abolish this practice lawyer Ram Jethmalani said that"it is an unconstitutional practice because it violates equality of the women and women don't have the right to take divorce ".

Let's wait till the SC gives a judgment on the issue.
