NewDelhi, MAY 13: The Central Statistical Office has released inflation details for the month of April 2017
The highlights of the report are:
* The Retail Inflation for month April recorded a new low of 2.99 %.
* This rate of decline is 2 times compared to last year's index of 5.4%
* WPI inflation has recorded a four-month low of 3.85 %.
Experts say that the inflation recorded was low because of
* Fall in prices of pulses by 15.94 %
* Fall in vegetable prices by 8.59 %.
* Fall in fruit inflation to 3.78%.
* Fall in potato prices by 40 %.
* Fall in onion prices by 12%.
Finally, the food inflation recorded at a low of 0.61%.
