United Airlines cancelled ticket for shooting the dispute in Mobile

LOS ANGELES, MAY 12: United Airlines is facing the heat again, this time for cancelling the flight ticket of an Indian-origin man because he used his phone to record a dispute with airline employees.

Coming to Details, Navaz Oza, The 37-year-old man, was refused entry on a flight to the West Coast after he started recording his fight with the United Airlines representative on his cell phone.

The passenger was travelling from New Orleans to San Francisco, said that A United Airlines agent cancelled his ticket when he began to record a confrontation about his checked bag.

The incident took place at New Orleans' Louis Armstrong International Airport when Oza checked in for a flight to San Francisco. He complained to a United Airlines agent about charging $300 for his checked bag, when he had paid just $125 to check a similar bag on the first leg of his.

He decided to record the incident when the agent became rude, Oza said. According to the video, the United Airlines agent, seen telling Oza that he does not have her permission to record the interaction. Later, she tells her colleague to 'cancel the reservation.'



However, Oza questioned the Police officer in response to that he says, 'Sir, you could continue to record since an airport is a public space'. But the ticket agent was adamant that Oza could not travel until he deleted the video.

Ultimately, he re-booked his flight on a different airline.

In response to the incident, 'The video does not reflect the positive customer experience we strive to offer, and for that, we apologise. We are reviewing this situation, including talking with Mr Oza and our employees to better understand what happened.' United Airlines said in a statement.
