HRD Ministry to decide in July

NEW DELHI, MAY 12: As we all knew, Common Engineering Test, which was proposed by the AICTE, has been put on hold by the HRD ministry till it reaches a final consensus.

Earlier, in March it was announced by the AICTE that the single window national level entrance exam will be held across the nation for getting admission into various engineering colleges from the next academic session in 2018.

Now, Union Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar said, 'In July, we will take a decision on national examination for engineering entrances from next academic year. After analysing, how successfully Neet exam was conducted recently for Medical Seats, he would come to the decision on engineering examination.'

He said that they are encouraging, to provide independent status for higher education institutions. Institutions which got NYACK 'A' rating for two consecutive years and NIRF rankings will be given an independent status.

The National Education Policy will be announced in a week, Javadekar said. Javadekar made it clear that They will provide central universities which had been told in the division of law of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. He said he would implement everything mentioned in the division law.

He also said that Chandrababu, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh was the friend of NDT from the very beginning, he is having a good bonding with Union, he added.

There is no intent behind the meeting between Prime Minister Modi and Vice President YS Jagan, he said and Dismissed the claim that the YSR Congress Party bonding towards the 2019 election.

In the southern states, there is a possibility of expansion of the party. In Kerala, we got 15% of the votes and it a good response from them, he said. There are plenty of opportunities for the party to expand in Telangana, HRD Minister said.
