Woman arrested for Cheating men

HYDERABAD, MAY 11: The Cyber Crime Cell of the Central Crime Station has arrested a woman who allegedly trapped several persons on the pretext of friendship, here on Wednesday.

While coming to matter, The accused was identified as Vinamrata Raman, who had previously worked in hotels at Pune and Goa. Presently she is working at a restaurant in Jubilee Hills.

At first, she develops the friendship with the gullible men on Facebook and later cheats them.

Generally, she will become friends with men on FB, and will have long chats and demands money from them only to cheat them. This time her plan has failed when she tried to cheat Shubham Gupta and the accused was finally arrested.

Her latest victim Mr Gupta lodged a complaint with the police stating that Vinamrata took Rs 10,000 from him through IMPS for booking the hotel room at Goa. He came into contact with her through FB where she had mentioned in her profile that she was working in Goa as a travel agent.

The accused agreed to get the room booked for him for three days at the rate of Rs. 7,000 per day, and asked Gupta to pay Rs 10,000 in advance. He believed her and deposited

Rs 10,000 in her account and waited for the confirmation receipt from the hotel which she told that will be sent to his email address.

However, Gupta found that he was cheated as he neither got a receipt and could not reach Vinamrata, whose phone was found switched off and her FB profile was also deactivated.

Acting upon the complaint lodged by Gupta the police traced the accused at Madhapur and arrested her. Police said she had additionally duped other men also and there are complaints filed in Madhapur station earlier.
