Electronic Voting Machines or EVMs can be rigged

New Delhi May 09: Here the news that "how Electronic Voting Machines or EVMs can be rigged".

While coming to matter, Aam Aadmi Party legislator Saurabh Bhardwaj gave a live demo in the Delhi Assembly on EVM tampering here on Wednesday.

" The former minister began his show by explaining how different parts of an EVM work and then conducted a mock poll on a voting machine he had carried to the assembly. The AAP test was conducted on a machine "similar" to an EVM and not an original EVM, he clarified.

"There are secret codes that can be used to decide on the day of voting which candidate can win," alleged Mr. Bhardwaj, who introduced himself as a former computer science engineer who has worked in several companies in India and abroad before he joined politics. He claimed that to rig a machine, "only the motherboard needs to be changed and that can be done in 90 seconds."

Mr. Bhardwaj further said that "any machine can be rigged or hacked," making a case for reverting to the paper ballot, AAP's key demand for recent elections. "Give us access to the EVMs that will be used in the Gujarat elections (later this year) for only three hours...I challenge the BJP will never be able to win there then," Mr. Bharadwaj said too much laughter in the assembly which is dominated by AAP.
