Mumbai MAY 09: We know that many of us read Newspaper daily.
Many people believe that With the increase in social media usage newspaper circulation would decrease.
A survey was carried out by Audit Bureau of Circulation (ABC) to find out the circulation of newspapers.
The results of the survey are as follows
* The daily circulation of Newspapers increased in India during 2006-2016.
* The daily circulation of papers increased to 6.23
crores in 2016 from 3.91 crores.
* Hindi Newspapers had the highest increase in
circulation 2.2 crores.
* Indians still prefer newspapers because of increased
literacy and trust they have in papers
* Telugu newspapers have seen a circulation increase of
8.3 %
* The top most circulated paper in India is
Dainik jagaran (Hindi) with a total circulation of
39 lakhs.
* Dainik Bhaskar (Hindi) paper stood second and
Times of India (English) stood third place
Finally, Newspapers have still their place in India.
